We the People can have what liberals and conservatives say we want: social and economic justice and, at the same time, smaller, cheaper government.

Here's a simple plan, "Citizen Policies," that updates ideas endorsed by Tom Paine, Thomas Jefferson, Martin Luther King Jr., and many others, including Nobel laureate economists and modern politicians.

Citizen Policies two main components are:

  • "Citizen Dividends" will guarantee everyone's basic economic security, paid for by cutting government programs that will become superfluous.

  • "Citizen Service" that every citizen would perform in our communities for eight hours a month.

This combination would empower each of us economically and politically to create a just and sustainable world.
